There are a number of customs regulations that passengers should abide to when travelling to and from the Seychelles Islands

Passenger Allowance

All passengers are allowed  a SCR3,000 personal/household allowance per passenger but the value items per passenger must not be in excess of the SCR3,000 this may include food items that are packed and sealed.

In cases where goods are imported in excess of the allowances, unless the relevant import permits have been obtained in advance, payment of import tax is to be made in cash or by personal cheque drawn on a local account. 

Credit card facilities are not yet available for the payment of import tax.

 

The following are prohibited goods that require special Import Permits or authorisation in advance from relevant authorities:
  • Stun Guns
  • Mace
  • Bows & Arrows
  • Knuckle Dusters
  • Daggers
  • Swords
  • Tear gas
  • Whips
  • Firearms
  • Ammunitions
  • Spear guns
  • Fireworks,
  • Pyrotechnic products
  • Explosives of any kind
  •  
Import Permits or authorisation in advance are required for the following goods:
  • Plants
  • Animals and animal products
  • Biological specimens
  • Radioactive substances and apparatus
  • Dangerous drugs
  • Chemicals,
  • Medicines
  • Pharmaceutical items
  • Poisons
     
Strictly Prohibited Goods of any kind include the following:

Pornography in the form of obscene articles, publications, video tapes and software is strictly forbidden.
